Sittin' on Katie's Couch
I sat on a comfy chair by the lit fireplace in Katie’s living room with my feet propped up on the footrest in front of me. Katie sat directly across from me on the couch. We shared our hopes and fears for our kids. We shared our dreams of how we could impact the lives of orphans. We shared our w

Fighting Fear with Friendship
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. Dying hopes, dreams, plans, visions, even the deepest desires that you’ve never had the courage to share with anyone else. All of th

How I Learned to Thrive at Church
I love the local church. I’ve spent half of my life in a church building between growing up as a pastor’s kid and working in the church. Basically, I’m a self-proclaimed church expert. I could tell you hilarious, roll-on-the-floor-laughing stories about old ladies with bathroom issues and baptisms gone awry. I can also tell you heartbreaking stories about the hard and hurtful times for me and my family. I’ve seen it all, and I love it in spite of the hard times. I don’t know
